Information regarding the new co-educational school
Why work for us?
Find out what Gail Clarkson, Geography teacher at Ark Helenswood Academy, had to say about working at the school.
Why work at Ark Helenswood Academy?
We strive to ensure that children from our local community are given a quality education and well-supported and developed staff are key to our vision. We aim to instil a strong work ethic and excellent behavioural skills into our students, to ensure that our teachers can focus on delivering inspiring and life-changing teaching. As a staff member, you’ll not only receive regular career development mentoring from a dedicated line manager and outstanding professional CPD opportunities – you’ll also have the chance to be involved in Ark Helenswood’s vibrant and dynamic performing arts.
How do we support Ark Helenswood staff?
We know that our students cannot reach their full potential without great teachers. From day one at Ark Helenswood, you’ll be offered regular training and support to help you develop in your career and practice – through Teaching Leaders’ and Future Leaders’ programmes, direct and regular mentoring with an experienced line manager and co-planning sessions for trainees and NQTs.
We also recognise and celebrate outstanding work in the school; each week, colleagues are nominated for our ‘Songs of Praise’ and given recognition for work that has gone above and beyond in our staff conferences. We recognise the hard work of all of our teachers and act to ensure that workloads are manageable.
