Students from Ark Helenswood were given the opportunity to perform the opening production of a unique live theatre festival at The Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury.

The performance was part of the National Theatre Connections Festival which offers young people the chance to produce original plays by renowned writers. Ark Helenswood students performed a new play ‘Stuff’ by Tom Wells which was described as ‘outstanding’ by a director from the National Theatre.

The production is part of Ark Helenswood’s exciting performing arts programme which will form the foundation for their transformation to the new school Ark Alexandra.

Niall Whitehead, Head of Performing Arts, said “This was a brilliant production and forms part of the amazing arts programme for the future. We are very excited about the opportunities we are offering the young people of Hastings.
